  • Yeah, I'm not surprised. I'm guessing they'll just say there's leeway in the system already with the time they give you to pay, plus with all the thousands of people a day who must go through, if everyone had an excuse to not pay it'd be impossible to manage it.

    Not saying your reason for forgetting to pay isn't understandable btw. I got a congestion charge fine when I just blindly followed Google maps through it, had a kid vomit in the car and general travel stress with kids then completely forgot about it. Gotta just chalk it up to 'shit happens'. At least it'll be 90 quid for going to something that mattered.

    I totally take @Gewürzt point that it gets messy, if you suddenly start giving leeway to thousands of drivers in the same situation... BUT TfL - with things like this - is not usually a "computer says no" organisation.
