Are those the DD1 or DD2?
-
• #9
Damn one of my favorite forum bikes
-
• #10
Thanks for nice comments all
As for the cranks, didn’t know there was an option, internet seems to say DD2 has more splines on the axle and a different torque cap so would assume they are DD1?

Dear lord this is insanely rad. Glad that it's too big as that would be the end of my savings otherwise.

How's the geometry for the zero-rake fork? Were you to fit a more conventionally-raked fork, would the handling be predictable?
-
• #13
I guess you’re more ‘over’ the front wheel? To me it rides normal, perhaps steering is lighter/more direct/twitchier than other bikes. I think the A2C is longer than conventional road fork, perhaps you could swap it for a canti/gravel fork? no idea the effect this would have on handling mind you.

Still available
Will take £265 if someone can collect this week
Sadly doesn’t get used, apart from the occasional tear around. Ideally would keep but lack of space / finances means it has to go.
Frame is an ‘Alley cat’ made during the days of FGFS, basically a Vigorelli with a zero rake fork, enabling it to bar spin.
The Alley Cat fork is built with Reynold’s thickest guage blades they offer(1.2/0.7 butt) to give extra strength and is supplied with no Rake or offset.
Potentially one of two ever made?
Reynolds 631OS tubing
Seatube: 56cm ctc 57 ctt
Toptube: 57cm
Headtube: 158mm
I managed to fit some 35c Paselas on TB14s. I’d recommend 33 gravelkings or terranos if you want to turn it into tracklocross / CX / singlespeed.
Alternatively paint is tatty, get some canti studs brazed on, got a discount MASH :-)
Drilled front and rear for long drop brakes, cable stop underneath top tube.
No bottle cage mounts (track frame)
Currently has front brake fitted but I have matching rear brake, cable and lever I can fit if you wanted to run singlespeed.
Current build:
Frame/fork/FSA headset
Custom made brazed stem 90/100mm
Nitto x Surly 1x1 Torsion sweep bar (666mm wide)
Sugino SG75 Direct Drive 165mm & Dura-Ace BB-R9100
Sugino Zen 47T
MKS RX-1 NJS pedals with Cinelli double cages
Izumi gold chain
Thomson seatpost
Flite titanium gel
Campagnolo Pista Low flange laced to Ambrosio Excursion rims (32h) EAI 17T cog, campy lockring
GP4000 25c front Gatorskin 28c rear
Tektro R539 brakes with Koolstop Salmons
Aliexpress Paul Brake levers
Hopefully someone’s interested in full bike, I’m not opposed to parting out but would like frame/fork gone first if so.
