Mini supermarkets...spend a lot of time in Herne Hill (gf lives there) and there's a Tesco and Sainsbury's almost side by side but neither has a strong selection of fruit and veg and what is there tends to be wrapped in loads of plastic. The contrast to where I live in Haringey with local independent grocers/supermarkets where you can actually buy ingredients to make a meal...
I went off the independent shops on Green Lanes after noticing how many customers insisted on squeezing and fondling all the produce before deciding which to buy.
Fruit and veg can be washed at least, loaves of bread not so much.
