Lookin fwd to picking up later this week chap.
In the meantime, been having fun banging out simple impromptu snippets in the gram. Here’s one on the scrounge-o-caster: https://www.instagram.com/reel/C7d_guatMaS/?igsh=OW43dDQ0YTZxYXUx
And yes, I have since dusted me pedals. -

Is that the Champ/Bronco on its own or did you use any OD pedals? Sounds great!
-
• #14731
Is that a Champ and a Musicmaster Bass, both from the 70s? Because if so that's a hell of a coincidence...

It’s 1970 champ being played, next to a ‘74 Vibrolux. Bit of Barber Tone Press parallel compression, Nobels overdrive and a bit of Klon clone. And some EHX nano holy grail reverb. Both ODs with gain turned way down. It’s a good way of getting a quiet amp sounding way louder than it is!
Similar set up but with SG (and fake Melotron):

Not as cool as a lot of the above, but took delivery of this Newporter in surf green yesterday, which I don't think will be to everyone's tastes.
Absolutely love it though. Sounds so good and warm considering it's materials.
I've not played acoustic for a while, anyone recommend a good set of light gauge strings? So many options!

Happy to hear it sounds good, I bought my OH a Fender Malibu last year and it's very boxy sounding.
-

I very nearly got the Malibu as it's smaller size, but it didn't sound that great to me either.
Didn't try the Redondo which is bigger still.

Only three Fucktones left. :(

Lovely! I've still got the newporter you sold me a few years ago. It's so, so easy to play.

Hey nerds, anybody in Ldn got a soft acoustic guitar case I could buy for cheaps please? Thanks

Morning all. Anyone had any experience in reducing room noise when recording using sensitive condenser mics? I always liked the sound of a room in a recording, and I never tried to hide it, but the latest place I've got (a box room) has the harshest high frequency reverb, it makes everything I record sound tinny as hell. There's no working with it.
What's good for sound deadening? Egg boxes on the wall? Sound blankets? Making a little vocal booth out of wooden framing and moving blankets? I'm all ears!

if its a small combo, a clothes horse over the amp and mic stand, then drape a heavy blanket or something over the top. Blackout curtains are great for this. It may remove too much room tone for you though.
Alternatively, try to remove as many perpendicular hard surfaces as you can. Angle the amp, hang stuff on the walls (big canvas frames work pretty well so it could be a great opportunity for some decadent interior design)

What's the best method/carrier for posting a guitar?!
-
• #14748
That's a great shout. I'm mostly worried about acoustic instruments tbh - guitar, vocals - but those tips will work really well. I never thought a clothes horse could be so useful, but it makes total sense!

Invite 15 friends over to stand silently in the room.
