You're going to put aero bars on yeah?
-
• #122278
Just put on dummy levers.
Get into a more aero position and save… 18 watts give or take at 35kph

Check :)

Not yet…

£150 if you're lucky? Walk into your local machine shop and ask, in my experience they are willing to help most of the time

Is this for a Pavoni? I also need one

If a phone has a battery capacity of ~2k mAh, and a power bank has a capacity of ~10k mAh, am I right in thinking that the power bank can deliver approximately 5 full charges to the phone? Or doesn’t it work like that?
-
• #122285
Essentially, yes. It won't quite do five full charges as there will be some losses in the charging circuit, but as a rule of thumb it'll be close enough.
-
• #122286
Wait until there's a tailwind.
-
• #122287
Perfect, close enough is fine.
-
• #122288
Yeah this is the best advice, you can set up alerts on mywindsock and it'll give you a heads up of the ideal conditions.
-
• #122289
Always have the power bank higher than the charging phone:
the electricity can flow downhill a little bit easier. -

That does sound like a plan. Although it’s a loop there is a section around a mile or so that all ways has a head wind.
-
• #122292
Yep, I thought you said it was a loop. It is with great sorrow that I suggest the unsporting option, training. Shaving everything south of your testicles will help, wearing aero clothing will help more, ditto getting into a lower and narrower position. Several grand on technology and wind tunnel analysis will make you faster.
A simple approach of riding your bike more and hurting yourself a bit more over a two week period would do the trick if it included an hour of intervals 3 times a week. Ganna is already shitting himself!

How tricky is the dance of removing sealant from a bike frame but leaving protective film in place?
-
• #122294
That does sound like a plan. Although it’s a loop there is a section around a mile or so that all ways has a head wind.
Then that headwind section is where you need to focus more of your energy on, similarly with going up any hills on the loop.

Has anyone bought a bike/frame on C2W, and sold it within the [extended] rental period?
I have a bike here, paid off a year ago, and I'm now into the extended 60months of rental after which the bike will be mine for fair market value i.e. £0.00.
I'm looking to move the groupset, wheels, finishing kit to another frame, and ideally I would make space by selling the frame.
Strictly speaking, I shouldn't do that, but I can't envisage a scenario where it would ever come to light that's what I'd done.
I am buying the next frame on C2W, btw; it's a fantastic initiative. This bike was effectively half price!

Instagram scams
What's the deal with these Instagram 'courses' and people making money.
I must be getting old, it's so a scam but still, people really buy into it?Eg https://www.instagram.com/crepchiefnotify?igsh=ajd1ZnN0ODVyNjUy

My YouTube feed is full of the same shite. I’m surprised Google or whoever doesn’t clamp down on it.
-
• #122298
I have never seen anything like it on my youtube feed or instagram
-
• #122299
I did notice though that on Youtube when playing a video the 3rd or 4th suggestion on the right used to be completely off compared to the rest, usually some right wing crap, something from US TV or that crass bullshit you get when you open Youtube for the first time without a browser history.
Edit: looks like they changed something and it's just a blank page now.

It’s an elaborate scam by the car hire companies, to keep ppl renting Ferraris for a day.
Friend, it sounds like a mental barrier more than a physical one. It’s not just about the (probably immense) drag created by your self-professed simian body hair: it’s about how much you want this, it’s about your hunger for glory, and perhaps your fear of success.
Commit fully to the challenge. Consider shaving your legs (and possibly arms if it’s that plentiful) as your personal Rubicon. Show yourself that you are willing to push to whatever length to get this, and unlock the power of a fully committed mind and body.
