Still for sale
Hi.
I recently bought this frameset from the US. It's a fantastic bike but I have another that shares similar duties and i've decided it's a bit indulgent to keep both.
The goal with this was to build a metal 4 season road bike that didn't give much away to my summer bike in ride feel. With full length PDW metal mudguards, tools, lights on board this builds into a sub 8.5kg bike with no lightweight parts / wheels whatsoever (a Fairlight Strael seems to come up around 9-9.5kg with similar parts).
I paid about £1200 with duty etc. a few months ago. Does £850 for the frameset with Chris King headset seem fair? I can supply bits e.g. mudguards for a bit extra.
To answer the inevitable tyre clearance question, I was using with standard reach Chorus calipers and Continental GP5000 23's with good clearance under the mudguards. The brake blocks are at the bottom of the slots which to me suggests maybe room for 25's under the guards with the right shape caliper - that worked on my Enigma - but I can't say for sure. As you'd expect for a top drawer Ti frame it feels super smooth with 23s on.
I'll add more photos of the frame shortly.
Cheers.
