Having now watched almost all the episodes of Narcos I have decided I would quite like a gold day-date.

I would quite like a gold day-date.
For authenticity it needs to be a fake. Probably.

I've wanted a day-date for a long time, but not so keen on the president bracelet.
I remember seeing a guy on the 43 with one on a alligator strap and thought it looked amazing irl.

These are great.

It's beautiful. The only watch that makes me stop and look at it when I wear it.

We could swap

Is there a situation where these don't look good.
-
• #78037
Not that I’m aware of.

Lovely! Only seen them in cream and grey with that handset and dial combination. What is the reference? Are they the slightly bigger sized 37-38mm version of the 74000?

Those blued hands are fantastic!

Looks lovely. Gold case? Any movement pics/info?
-
• #78044
Thanks both. Yes gold case and movement. I don't know anything about it really. It's a shame it just sits in a box.
Little about it here

Well it’s certainly from the 1930s, from a quick google I think the model is called the Triumph, and the hallmarks say it’s a 9ct gold case made by the Dennison watch case company in Birmingham. It certainly would have been a “good” watch, if not the very finest.

Thanks!
It was a company gift for 50 years of service. No dominos rolex but special of its time.

No dominos rolex
But what is? I mean it is peak corporate loyalty branded merch. It can only be downhill from there.
50 years of service. My sister has been at her company for 30 years and that makes here a huge outlier. She is going to be retired well before she gets close to that. 50 just seems bonkers.

Someone at work has just done 54 years, they are 70 and still working
-
• #78049
People started working much sooner and had less ‘career’ changes in previous decades but as Aroogah said 50 years in the same company is still bonkers! Also probably means they lived way past the average!

I'm just finishing work with 45 years service. The award was £218 just shop voucher in the post.
Luca? not a purchase, just finished shooting for him and Brooklands.
Not met him or Simon in person as I shoot some stuff at my home studio.
