I quite fancy giving CX a go again this winter but currently not got a bike with curly bars.

What’s the chances of me using something like a Cotic Escapade rather than a proper CX bike and not being totally shit?
Obviously me being shit won’t change but will the wrong bike make a massive difference?

You won't know unless you try it and see. You see all sorts of different bikes at cross races, and if you're comfortable with what you have, you'll be fine.

I don’t own one yet, just toying with ideas about new bikes at the moment.

I’ve “raced” on:
A pompino
A caadx
A planetx xla
A trek 7.0 hybrid single speed
A crux single speed

The trek was the most fun for the one race I did.

It didn’t make a bit of difference what I raced on to where I finished. I’m not that good!

only 30 minutes for each of the adult races now? i wasn't expecting that

What treads we all running now.

I’m thinking about just running baby limus from September to January as it’ll probably be fucking wet all season anyway and they’re not that slow on the off chance it’s dry.

I will put my Dry tyres on. If it rains before Summercross, I will swap back to the Baby Limus.

All four of the MAAP Summer Cross races are open for entry on the BC website, as is the Reigate race on Friday the 9th of August.

35mm vs 50mm rims. What’s people’s preferred cross wheel?

I’m considering a 50mm as I then only have one wheel to rule them all. But 35mm is lighter and better for cross in theory. 45 seems to have died a death.
