Tao crashed into an electricity pylon or pole of some kind. Article in German:

He braked and had managed to slow down quite well, then someone hit him from behind and threw him out of control. He hit the pole or pylon at an estimated 45kph with his right side and upper arm and doesn't seem to have any fractures but bruised ribs, which he says may interfere with his breathing.
