Practicalities aside. That's a pretty fucking pimp setup. Hope you have a great summer.

Looks like you brought the right bike for the terrain

Lol!

Do you still have the Pace RC295?
-
• #361
The spot where the bike is standing is 14 metres above the highest point in Singapore. Still doesn’t make a 160mm enduro bike suitable for riding on the SDW- but it’s the only bike I have, so…

Nope, sold it to buy the Madonna

Awesome set up, loving the RTS... quietly hoping that for some shots with the rack on and the roof down, but I guess thats a lot of hassle...
Out of interest, did you look at whether you could fit wider crossbars? Or are they an unusual profile to fit in the mounts?
EDIT: Was intrigued so did some googling. Theoretically looks like it would be possible to use longer bars but might need some cutting/drilling if you can find the same profile bars... not much help when you are already away!

The feet are profiled to fit the bars, but that’s not to say that other bars with the same profile would not work- you’d simply need to drill holes in the correct location.
It’s a little hard for me to play around with this as I live ~7,000 miles away from where the car resides.
If the profile matches (say) Thule Wingbars then it would be straightforward to pick some longer ones, drill the holes and have a lot more space available.
Happy to get a photo with the rack on and the roof down if it ever stops raining here.

I could potentially print an adapter I suppose, to match the profile of a new bar to the existing feet.

Arduous testing process

Ah I can see how that makes it more difficult...
Without being overly cynical I'm sure its in Thule's interests to keep changing the profiles, or producing proprietry bars for OEMs (especially Porsche). 3d printing an adaptor would be brilliant although it seems like you are pretty sorted in the end!

Looks great! is wind noise noticably louder inside the car?
-
• #372
It is, but depends on speed- at lower speeds not really noticeable, but at motorway speeds it definitely is.

Bon voyage!
