• Hi there,

The bike was involved in a small car crash. The bike was mounted on the back of the car when the driver went backwards and hit a pole. The fork and front wheel were damaged beyond repair, so I replaced them. I was in Romania, so I couldn't find a proper fitting fork (even though the new one is carbon) and bought what I found. I wasn't able to repair it properly since I don’t know how to, hence the front brakes are not working. The front wheel is the most basic wheel I could find since I only needed the bike during winter for indoor training. The back wheel is a Zipp 303 Firecrest. No saddle. Garmin device bar mount.

    The asking price is £2500.

  • Here for the comments

  • The bike was involved in a small car crash

But half the bike is totaled / missing. Ok then... (goes to find dictionary to look up 'small')

  • The asking price is £2500.

That's a generous offer but I think you can call your local council and they will take it to the recycling centre for free.

  • I have a Quarq power meter + cranks and they were removed from the old bike to the new one.

  • Yes, a car going backwards 5km/h can total a bike, since one is carbon and fragile and the other is 250x heavier.

  • Dude, I'm not the one asking 2 1/2 grand for half a bike.

  • GLWS

  • So let me get this straight, it's a rim brake bike which is a hard sell in 2024 in a niche size.
It's a Pinarello but not one of their top end models such as a Dogma.

It was involved in a crash, doesn't have it's original fork or a replacement Pinarello Prince one, just a random carbon fork.

There's mismatched wheels and the front one "is the most basic wheel I could find"

The front brakes don't work and there's no crankset or saddle.

Have I got that all correct? If so then how did you get to £2,500?

FYI you can get a new Pinarello with a similar level frame, original fork, disc brakes, matching wheels, saddle, crankset and hasn't been in a crash for £3,000:

  • Price drop to £1800.

My apologies for the initial price. I’m very unaware of current bike prices and the supposed price for this case. I bought the bike in China for £6000 in 2021 and I thought I would be able to get slightly less than half.

  • Thanks for the questions and educating. Price is updated.

  • Price drop to £1800.

i'd be amazed if you got more than a grand for this... glws though

  • 6k for a mechanical ultegra in 2021?

  • I think I can spot why the front brake doesn't work

  • Yes, it was during covid and I was stuck in China. Bikes worldwide were sold out because the only way to get out of the house was to exercise at one point. Also, China has a very high luxury tax on imports. I massively overpaid but it was worth it.

  • Why is the uci sticker in the strange place . Bought in china i smell a rat.

  • Imported from Pinarello Italy. I have the receipts.
