Oi, recently built this for my partner and it’d be a pretty decent base for a graveltrack project:

Good call, an underrated under £300 bike.
You couldn’t do me a favour and run a tape measure over it for me? I’m after the BB drop and fork AtoC. Cheers ta. -

Unfortunately, the bike is in Italy as we use it as a back-up once we're there.
However, I remember measuring the axle-to-crown and it was around 405mm circa - I also asked the guys at Decathlon yesterday, and they said it is 420mm.
If you are planning to eventually swap the forks, there is a guy on the forum who did it with a Condor Pioggia and another one in Germany who mounted a Surly Straggler's which looks rad.

Picked up an elops off marketplace, my first fixed/SS bike so having to research gear ratios etc now!
Time to squeeze some wider tyres on, will it fit 37s?

Suspect so, only went as far as 32c GKs on mine.

A long weekend of connecting Home Counties campsites between Oxford and Winchester. Mainly road but some of the Ridgeway and Salisbury plains.

The bike looks sweet as - what's the frame? Sounds like a nice long weekend too
-

the frame is a Skream ranger with big tyre clearance.
goldtec hubs, stans grail rims, stronglight cranks because what else, 120 mm uno stem, easton carbon bars, a nice rat.
not much riding was done as I was following family in a campervan, but it was nice alt-middleshire tourism. -

Nice frame sets and a good solid build. They are so close to what I want.

Hoping to build up a fixed off roader using bolt on cog on a 6 bolt front hub.
Hoping to use QR 100mm wide hub. frame is 120mm spaced. Thinking of using hex skewer and spacers to make this work but wondering if anyone thinks that won't work or has another method.
-

Unless you alterady have the hub I don't know why you wouldn't just use the XT one. They can be found pretty cheap and they are bombproof.
You definitely need a longer axle, there's no way you're going to put something on the end of a 100mm qr axle to make it fit a 120mm frame.

Thanks, did have a hub in mind but will shelve my harebrained plan for it and get the XT one!

First of all, let me introduce my new Scorched Earth Fixed Gear ATB made by Chris Schmidt of good grief cycles located in Colorado springs...
And I'd like to discuss pedal options, especially if running some sort of straps or going clipless or just using a flat pedal, which I started off with.
While it's comfy and without any hassle and I can just use the pair of shoes I wear atm, the obvious disadvantage, at least for me, is not having a real good option of stopping/skidding.
Riding off road - but not racing, what would be you choice and why?
Cheers
PS: I already swapped some parts and dialed in the saddle height...

Nice 🚲 I'd say no, don't ride fixed with flats. And sort that chain slack, makes me hurt my shins just looking at it 😄
Anyone have a wider tyre clearance 54ish frameset laying around? doesn’t need to be pretty, but does need to have that certain something about it. 1 1/8, threaded bb, 27.2 seatpost preferred.
recent wide tyre convert and now i fancy swapping everything from my regular fixie onto something that can fit bigger rubber in
