  • i used a whisky n07 QR post mount on this same cdf

  • it being a gravel fork but whishky - for instance - make another with less clearance.

  • No need to feel guilty! I too will be holding onto my 58, evidently they never seem to come up for sale. Yes, I've found one and enjoying the longer top and head tube.

  • Awesome thank you.

  • Ah nice, we’re just building one of the 725/12 frames up for a lad at work - they’re a nice update on the older frames, now with better clearances, and I am a TA convert especially on the front / loaded.

Ive completed the transformation into ultimate nursery commute bike.

  • Hello! Got myself a new (to me) Croix de Fer, so feel privileged to join the club. I’ve added some SKS mudguards and the next job is to get a saddle that is more suited to my tastes.

  • New (to me) just in time for summer touring. Need to add a rear rack and find some small panniers for the pizza rack, and maybe a classier crankset.

I learnt the hard way that shifters and stem angle meant I couldn’t keep a wald basket on the rack. I’ve some nitto bullmoose too so maybe eventually it will become a hybrid.

    Really a peak egb frame.

  • Thanks,I didn’t know this was a thing - almost def would.

I was semi thinking about cutting the two squares out which would let me shift, but this seems more sensible.

Also it makes sense now why loads of Radavist basket bikes have bar end shifters

  • Anyone selling a 56cm croix de fer? Earlier version …

  • Incidentally does anyone know if this geo chart from the 2011-2014 version is correct - the reach for the 58cm frame is less than the 56cm? … I’d normally ride a 56cm but it looks fairly aggressive, same as my old CAAD5 and would prefer the extra stack of the 58cm, as long as the reach isn’t too much.

Looks like 58cm has slightly slacker seat tube which would result in longer overall top tube …

  • I'd say that's accurate per the original geo (done before the days of stack & reach)
