Another recommendation is to use organic oats as standard oats are particularly susceptible to traces of agri-chems
Wondered that too, but never got more than the oats are processed less. Hence longer to cook and longer to digest so lower glycaemic load.
Also check that flanahan Irish oats are machine cut and not rolled, as I was buying some and ended up at Holland and Barrett
