Well the Transformers thing was very meh. Felt like I was watching a DVD extra in a cinema. Hopefully at some stage the Movie ever gets a playing somewhere, although I think there are some sort of rights issues that may ever prevent that.
Watched at The Stratford Picturehouse. First time going there and it was very sad. I don’t know why but had always assumed it’d be smart and busy, but it was Peckhamplex levels of neglected. More staff than punters. Almost felt surreal.

Came across this on Prime last night and it’s brilliant- https://kaleidoscopehomeentertainment.com/movie/robodoc-the-creation-of-robocop/

Saw Challengers last week, great fun, visually stunning in places and the Reznor/Ross score really is just right.

Am watching Atlas on Netflix so you don't have to.
They could've at least given it a bit of comic relief by casting Matt Berry or Stephen Merchant for Lopez's mech.

Just watched La Chimera at the cinema
Perfect little film, would highly recommend

Finally got round to watching The Creator. Wish I hadn’t bothered. Epic snooze fest. Was expecting so much more.
Watched Bullet Train too, which was just about as shit I assumed it was going to be, so at least I wasn’t disappointed.

Agree on The Creator being thoroughly underwhelming.
I got unreasonably annoyed at the massive space station that arbitrarily goes from orbit to low altitude and back again. Flying cars I can deal with, but that just took the piss.

Finally watched Spinning Gold on DVD, Neil Bogart biopic founder of Casablanca Records.
Kiss, Isley Brothers, Bill Withers, Gladys Knight, Parliament, Donna Summer sub plots and soundtrack were interesting I suppose, however the main story and narrative was just a bit meh.
Which is a shame as it has all the hallmarks of being a banger, maybe I just need to watch a couple of times to fully appreciate the enormity of Neil Bogart’s achievement and his generous spirit

Anyone seen Furiosa yet? I loved the Fury Road, totally batshit!
-
• #20963
Was hoping to see it this week but I don't think I'm going to find the time.
Keen for some opinions too.
First one is a stone cold banger.

I don't normally get wound up over remakes but watching the trailer for The Crow remake has got me all key smashy. Surely this is one you would leave alone and not apply the generic Insta Hipsta treatment to, Shirley?
The same week i find out Richard Dreyfuss is a bellend as well.

generic Insta Hipsta treatment to
How do you mean? Face tats?
I think that's just adapting to current trends.
Compare the original 80s commic with the 90s film. They're both very much styled in their era

New alien trailer just dropped, finally it could be a good and scary aliens film again after the shite they have put out before

Maybe, but to me this just looks like a fashion or car advert doing the same thing (interspliced with some run of the mill violence). Could be that it's the same people in front of and behind the camera. Bikeriders trailer also looks like a perfume add or that they forgot to include Leslie Nielsen's parts.
Like i said, not normally one to care and no doubt this will shine some light on the original but the Crow has such a tragic backstory it should have been left alone IMO.

Yes but Kiss still look like that.
Edit: apparently they retired last year. But are coming back as holograms or something.

I watched Furiosa on Monday, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
It's a big stupid action movie in the best possible way.
-
• #20970
Good to know I really want to see it!

Also watched Furiosa at the weekend and thought it was great. More of exactly what I wanted from the series so I came out satisfied.

Went to see Furiosa last night. Didn't blow me away quite like Fury Road did, but I think that's mostly because that was such a unique and incredible film that it's almost like I was more prepared for this one.
The sound was incredible - the engine notes of some of those bikes did special things to my insides.
The only fuck up is that I didn't realise I'd bought a ticket to a subtitled screening - so that was a bit distracting in places but actually not awful at picking out the little details in the dialogue in places. -

I was just reminded of Carts Of Darkness. Highly recommended if you've not seen it. An hour long documentary about unhoused people collecting bottles and racing trolleys down massive hills in Vancouver. Absolutely brilliant. You can watch the whole thing for free on YouTube.

I watched Carts of Darkness last week, such a good documentary.
Also JLo's only half decent role.
She was half decent in El Cantante too tbf
