my thinking was essentially "bands who fuck with people". I guess it could also be Frontierer or some other band that trys to make people vomit through sheer aural assault

Assuming I knew how to solder, would it be safe to wire it to a UK 3 pin cable/plug? Where would the third wire go, if anywhere?

It's in a plastic box, so unless there's a ground contact on the PCB (which there won't be if it was designed for a 2 prong plug), there's no need to connect an earth.

If it came with a UK plug it'd be one of those with a plastic earth prong.

No, just cut off the EU plug and put a UK one on the cable - no soldering needed.

It doesn't come with a cable though -that cable is one someone has added after market. It's got a 2 prong plug baked into the back.

In any event, I think getting one, seeing in person and returning if not right is prob best course of action.

If you have to teach yourself how to solder, then soldering a mains connection is not the place to do it.

Looking to pick up some ziploc bags for toiletries, dirty laundry for cycle touring trip...is Ikea the best place to pick these up?

I would say bacofoil bags which can be obtained in many supermarkets are as good if not better.
