You looking at the 411 or 450 Himmi?
CooperB are the go to place if you are looking to buy a new one.
Just my two pence worth is that the the 411 is a great all rounder. Such a good riding position on them. Great torque, great off road capabilities. Ideal for new and experienced riders alike. Super cheap and easy to work on. I got 90mpg on mine. They lack a bit of top end though so motorways are a bit of a chore and also lack a bit of grunt for a quick overtake on the lanes. A nice used 411 will be £3000.
If you are looking at the newer Transalp I assume they will be around £10grand? They will do everything better apart from general off roading. They cost a lot more though and maintenance and spares will be a lot more expensive. It may possibly be a bike you hold onto longer though. Ideal for longer trips away down to Europe for example.
450 Himmi is a bridge between the two but not necessarily the best of both world.
If it was me I would get the 411 use it for a couple of years and from there you can decide if you want to keep it or then upgrade.
Thanks for bike recs the other day, looks like it’s either a Transalp or Himalayan! Will see if any dealers round me have anything available to test ride when the time comes.
In other news, passed my Mod1 this morning! 2 minors for a stall on the emergency stop and 1kph under on the swerve. Just got 18 months of bad habits from the 125 to get rid of before Mod2.
