I still have the Thule Touring on my Qashqai that used to b an Avant A4.
Websites suggest a loss of up to 10 percent.
The extra space is valuable when something substantial has to take up boot space.
We acquired a 5 man inflatable tent which comes in around 33kg and takes up half the boot.
I would think an estate / box combo was probably even better depending on drive.
You can even fit a bike or 2 on depending on specs that will really suck your mpg.
Well worth it IMO.
So we have now added a dog (lab) to the family.
I have an old but trusty A4 Avant that still drives great with plenty of miles left on it.
Because I'm selfish I'm keen not to get a larger vehicle that drives like a people carrier or looks like an SUV.
On the few times a year we need to take luggage can anyone tell me if Cargo Boxes on a roof rack are a good idea beyond fuel economy and security? Thinking of Thule...
