    Fools. Agree with @Cupcakes - outside where they belong! Celebrate the rain. Heavy downpours will only get more common. As will droughts and external will make it easier to divert to a collection butt...

  • I should point out that I've not discussed it with them yet, but nice uncluttered facades are a bit of a trademark of their work.

    However they're very good at what they do (this is why we're using them!) and they've probably worked out a clever yet simple solution which would be typical. What normally happens is I'll research some crazy idea like those flat drainpipes then they'll say that seems unnecessarily complex and we normally just do this simple yet effective solution :)

    So I need to raise this with them (along with 101,000 other things) and see what they say, but it's good to know about the issues @Cupcakes / friends of @ectoplasmosis experienced and good point on heavy downpours getting more common, a lot of our neighbours drainpipes already don't cope. Forewarned is forearmed and all that.
