Things to watch out for that cost £££
Power steering rack leaks ( around £1000 for replacement) , hydraulic pump recycling time (anything under 15 seconds indicates more leaks which could be anywhere! ) gear changes and the dreaded rust!! Carb cars a lot simpler than fuel injection but slower. If you need a nice leather front arm rest I have 2 for sale!
If the car has Michelin xas or xvs tyres (£1000 for 4) it’ll drive a lot nicer than with modern tyres… -
Probably quite stupid, but life is for living and you'll never remember the time you stayed home and didn't road trip a DS to France.
It's an old Citroen in Scotland, so rust is the main concern. Don't buy a rotten one unless it's very cheap.
I bought a CX in Glasgow and took it back home to Brighton. 10/10 great trip and a wonderful car. It was definitely a bit crusty though!

It's stupid to buy any car from Scotland, the amount of rain, snow, sleet and then the salt they throw on the roads there.

How stupid is it to buy a ds? From Scotland, well just the edge. Then drive it to Paris and back to London.
