Appreciate the offer of a decent deal - let me think on it, mate.
And thanks again for the advice.

What are the chances of finding an OTP disc fork with Axle to crown length of 367mm and a 35mm rake with clearance for a road plus tyre?
I know it’s a big ask… -
• #122179
No sweat. Again, personally I'd just get a new one for the sake of warranty / being able to use a credit card etc, but it's there if you fancy.

Reliable heart rate monitor
Who makes a decent HRM. I bought a wahoo TICKR in October last year and it has already stopped working.

Polar OH1 / Verity Sense if you want an armband one

Basically impossible. 367mm is short. That's what you find on racey road bikes. 35mm is more like track bike rake. Almost all disc forks will be 45-50mm.
There's not enough space physically left for a road plus tyre after you consider the fork crown. 622/2=311 (radius of a 700c wheel). 367-311-20(crown)-5(clearance)=31mm max tyre.
There are some forks with very short crowns which will be as good as you can get in that length.I have one of these on my bike, as you can see the crown is very thin and consequently it will take a 32mm tyre
https://whiskyparts.co/forks/no.9-rd-12mm-thru-axle-fork#/
If you want bigger, you will need to go longer. Rake is 45mm.
If you're using 650b then ignore the above. -
• #122183
Yeah shit sorry should have said it’s 650b. As you’ve guessed I want to replace the fork on a track style bike. With a bit of squeezing and trimming the rear tyre fits I don’t suppose you have a 650bx47 slick tyred wheel you could try and squeeze in have you? I want track type clearances so don’t need acres of space :D

• #122184
No, sorry. I have big wheels and small wheels but no medium sized ones (650bois)

Haha!!! Cheers aways!

I have just worked my way through the Hammer House of Horror dvd set.
Any recommendations for something similar?
Thanks -

Look up Max Power Cycles, 365 a2c but 25mm rake though.
Otherwise, check Pake Runner fork, 384 a2c and 38mm rake. You'll have to sort it out from the US as the UK distributor don't usually stock them.

TLDR: How do I watch Election Night coverage from a field in Spain.
I'm off to a Festival first week of July, it's called Nowhere partly because it's in a very rural area of Northern Spain, it's a dusty field. That little shit sunak has of course fucked up on long anticipated night of joy by being a prick and having election day when I'm on me holls, wanker! Private Jet Wanker!
Being the Politico I am, I don't want to miss out on this better than Christmas event. So please help how can this be done? If I were to have a tablet and if I could find Wifi (?) could I steam one of the British TV stations, is this realistic or laughable? I'm not very technally minded with this sort of stuff. Any all thoughts, ideas suggestions are welcomed. World Service on Short Wave, Radio 4 on Long wave? Satelite telly? There is some budget for kit than must be able to be carried in and out.
Nowhere is a Bucket List thing but so is this election night seein the tories getting super fucked up. Please can someone have a brillant idea to make this happen.

You will probably be able to pickup Freesat but you will need a larger dish, perhaps 100cm. Might be awkward to build a temporary setup.
iPlayer is geo restricted. It sure if there will be a global stream on bbc.com for the election.
The well known VPN services are likely to be blocked by the BBC etc.
I have a VPN server running on my broadband which I can then tunnel traffic to so I can appear as if I'm at home on my normal UK residential broadband. You could set something like that up if you know there will be decent mobile Internet.
You could connect a DVB (T or S) receiver at home and then make that available remotely via your broadband. I have a mutant51 PVR that I do that with but that is old, something from https://www.world-of-satellite.co.uk/satellite-and-terrestrial/digital-receivers would probably work depending on what is available at home.

Is Browsec likely to be one of them? Never known it to be blocked, but if it was I probably wouldn't know what was happening. (I use the free Chrome extension in the UK.)

Ha, very similar but the other way round and an island off. Poros was very nice, we had a room on the first floor of a family run beach bar off the main town. We catched the cook son on his last day there because of the end of season and then gave him free reign to conjure something up which was delicious. We had to vacate because it had been booked but returned after two days. Turned out the couple that had been staying in "our" room in the meantime had also wanted to extend but we beat them to it. A testament to the bliss.
Methana does sound better though, less touristic and larger. Epidaurus was indeed very impressive with the acoustics, as was Corinth Canal. We also did Nafplion, Micaene, and a Byzantine Site near Sparta. You'll stumble over UNESCO Heritage sites when there really.
Athens is also really nice. The beautiful historic sites but also the gritty city itself. Really vibrant. Incredible food.
Should go back really. -

As of today Express VPN works with iPlayer from Spain, so download the 30 day trial of that and then you should be fine with the Beeb.

I don't have many problems using nord vpn with iplayer and when I do it's usually a case off clearing the cache on the app and signing in again.

I've had my mobile number for a long time but it seems more and more stuff is asking for your number when registering for accounts or whatever (and requiring it to be correct by sending a code via SMS or something).
I'd like some way to have an alias number that will then forward (mainly SMS) to my actual mobile or a website or app or whatever. Bonus points if you can have multiple numbers or disposable ones or something. I wouldn't mind paying a quid or two a month for it but that's probably it.
Firefox Relay seems to do what I want but isn't available in the UK. Or, and this has just occurred to me, is there some kind of super cheapo PAYG e-sim I could get and occasionally discard?
-
• #122198
A&A will do but I think it's £10/month minimum. I didn't find anything cheaper when I looked a few years ago.

My burner set up:
Giffgaff sim -free
One off (non-recurring) Goody Bag to get it up and running - £6
Top up for out-of-bundle calls, i.e. after the Goody Bag expires £5
Phone home for 1s every month - 10p or so out of your top-up balance
Mobile that stays active for years for receiving 2FA texts from questionable resources - priceless -

Is there a good way to gather customer feedback online by emailing editable PDFs? As a NHS patient I've been asked to complete such a form and return it by email. It's an attachment. The title of the form starts with 'Editable'. It doesn't have a read-only Attribute. Great. The form says it should be completed with a ball point pen. Hmm.
There are boxes to tick and boxes requiring written words. When I click on it on my PC it opens in Chrome and it's not editable. On my Android phone there's a default app which lets me doodle on chaotically on it and save a copy. No doubt I can find a way around these obstacles, if I can be arsed. I doubt that more of a handful of patients will bother. Am I missing something? Is everyone tooled up to edit a PDF nowadays?
Bleugh - wrote a response earlier and forgot to hit post. But yes, as you've seen it's both:
Each is very easy to get, one is a tenner a year or something like that. The other is free but needs to be renewed every 5 years. You're supposed to also put a sticker on with your ID onto the drone itself but honestly I'd presume 70+ per cent of DJI owners don't even have a license, much less bother with a sticker.
No pressure but I'd probably sell the mini pro 3 if you're interested based on my lack of use. Though new they're reduced currently to £460 at the moment (shifting stock I guess to make way for the 4 which came out last year and, more likely still, ahead of the Mini Pro 5 which is likely due out this summer) . That's pretty competitive already so would personally just go for new to get the warranty etc: https://www.wexphotovideo.com/dji-mini-3-dji-rc-2024-3148578 But if you wanted to save a ton I'd do £350 collect in Devon or £375 posted? Again, no pressure but feel free to DM if interested.
