London Bike Studio, 129-131 Stoke Newington Road, London, N16 8BT
Rolling with the Punctures is a state of mind…
It’s also an 8,000km bumpy bike ride that Mike Elm went on in 2023 from his dad’s home country of England to his mother’s home country of Greece via Tunisian Sandstorms, Bosnian mountains and Albanian errr… also mountains, and some places in between.
Hear about hunting for Roman aqueducts, meeting the Amazigh people in Tunisia, learning the ancient Kanun laws of Albania, Europe’s deepest canyon, scorpions, midnight boars, real forests, sweet ‘grav’ and coming face to face with the climate crisis. Expect silly puns and sweet pics from Mike’s 7 months on (and off) the road.
There’s also going to be time for questions about the trip, bikepacking, life, the universe and everything and time for meeting and chatting to fellow attendees.
The event is at the swish new London Bike Studio shop on Stoke Newington Road. The shop stocks new bikes and accessories from brands including Raleigh, Genesis and more. They have a growing range of gravel, single speed, road, e-bikes, cargo, custom-build and second-hand bicycles for sale and top notch speciality coffee from Caravan Roastery.
There will be some nibbles and softies on the night to help with the mingling. Bring your own bottle if you’d like something stronger.
Cycle Superhighway 1 runs close to the shop, buses stop right outside the shop and there’s the Rectory Road overground station nearby. The venue itself is accessible however the toilets unfortunately are not but the nearest accessible toilets are just across the road at Next Door Records Two – where the post event pints will also be happening
Get a spot!
Tickets are £12 full price and £9 concessions – it’s as close to a real job as I have at the moment. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite:
