  • Kinda both, more the latter. And to meet new folk.

Bhv is a social thing mostly isn't it? But you and Ben are machines..

  • @jim1985

Yeah, I wasn't really suggesting BHV. It's not what you're looking for.

For fast group training rides on a Saturday, check out Bigfoot CC. Their fast group is strong. They do runs down towards Staplehurst (my usual training route) and also Ashdown Forest. They also have a mid paced group too I believe.

I've heard the fast group is proper, no nonsense, leave everything on the road fast. But good for the legs.

  • I've seen Bigfoot out and about a lot and they're either a group of young guys absolutely smashing it or older folk on a pootle... think i'd join the latter group! A good idea thanks. Would like something a bit more local though - they meet out towards Orpington / Bromley I think.

Am going to try Brixton or Cadence

  • Brixton seem like a good club. Shame I was undertaken by one just now on the commute though. Not a good look.

If you're going to wear club kit on the commute, you'd better ride like you're giving a fucking masterclass.

  • Might not be a club member, might just wear the kit as it's sold to the public.

  • ^clear admission of guilt.

  • Nah, I'm full beginner! Got a track day at Lee Valley for Christmas so will give that a go and then pop down to HH.

Thanks for the advice though, much appreciated!

  • Maybe I'll start Groucho CC. An oxymoron, emphasis on the moron.

  • 'Moron' is Welsh for carrot.

  • Def emphasis on those! Oh wait I don't puff any more. Much.

  • Oi oi

  • Grouchy CC would be more in character.

  • That is part of the joke, absolutely!

  • Did you go out with Cadence? interested to hear what you thought.

  • Couldn't believe how many riders I saw heading out of London into essex from Lee Valley Velo Club and Islington CC this morning.

Was like London Dynamo heading south about a decade ago (I haven't ridden south of London since then, so no idea what it is like now).

  • Makes sense!
