  • I'm just gonna leave this here:

  • Sunday morning.
Recommend me some chamber music I most likely haven’t heard before.

  • On way home from HallΓ© at Bridgewater Hall where Sir Mark Elder conducted Timotheus, Baccus & Cecilia, by Sir James Macmillan

[csb] Extra special as my daughter was singing in the choir.[/csb]

It's on again tomorrow, then again at the Royal Albert Hall in July as Prom #4.

Can anyone here advise what resale options / opportunities for Prom tickets are?

It is sold out and I'd love to see my daughter perform there too, although it will be live on the BBC so I could watch it on my phone in a nearby pub as a backup I guess...

  • Have you considered promming? Day promming tickets go on sale at 10:30am on the day (https://www.royalalberthall.com/plan-your-visit-essential-safety-information/bbc-proms-faqs/)

  • +1 for promming tickets. Great fun if you’re able to stand in the middle for the length of the recital. There are no seats or places to sit so be aware of this though

  • i) another +1 for the promming experience - cheap tickets, quite fun, the chance to move around, and arguably the best acoustics

ii) very limited seats are available, and bookable, in the promming areas if you need them (for some concerts this includes the choir seats, though presumably not for this one ...)

iii) returns or later availability is pretty common, whether it's actual returns or box/seat owners deciding they don't fancy this one so putting their seats on sale

  • @wence @C4r1s @jsabine really insightful & useful thanks, I'll book travel & accommodation then wing it on the day.

Do you know if it is like the Wimbledon queue for the 10.30am sale? As in I might need to bivy camp overnight?

  • It’s all online from what I recall for promming, just make sure you set up your account/login ahead of the release time and you should be ok
