Lidl doing their small Kamado with stainless steel 26.5cm grill for £80 next Sunday 2/6. Thinking of getting one for grilling chicken fish and veg and keep Weber for smoking and steak.

Grillworks?

Ooh tempting but no

Just get a Weber kettle, v versatile, can smoke and grill. Nicely put together. About a third of the price of a kamado, if not less.

Might get the lidl one to see me through the summer and go from there. Something>nothing

I thought it might have been something like an Oxgrills or a cheeky Charlie but I’ll eagerly wait to find out

I looked at those Lidl ones but decided the cooking area was just too small to be worth it. It's really small, even compared to something like a Weber Go Anywhere.

As others have said, a Weber kettle will do 95% of everything a BBQ can do, do it well, last at least a decade, and is fairly affordable.
£120 or so for the basic models up to £250 or so for the more premium ones. Pretty decent value imo.

Preposterous 😂😂😂

Beyond parody, a vajazzled monstrosity for the price of a house deposit

Did you not get the memo? Lfgss has moved on to £40k outdoor kitchens.

Do the tiles do anything other than add chintz?

Should have gone for the gold version.

Was tempted but would have had to redesign our house and garden in Saddam Hussein chic.

Sorry, had presumed it was already decorated by Uday and Qusay's stylist.

On the other hand, if you value overkill and unsurpassed performance… and think that a ceramic grill with 238 lbs of 304 stainless is awesome... We are building grills for you.
fair enough then.
i'm slightly curious as to whether this does anything that a "regular" kamado doesn't

What it does is piss off the golf club fan club.
Main other benefits are temperature stability, once up to heat low fuel use and longevity of parts.

Turkish bath house mosaics aside, they do look like pretty sweet kamados. I like the idea of all the integrated temp controls, can you swap it out easy enough if it fails? That's the thing I like about the thermoworks billows, not as clean as an integrated system but if it fails it doesn't affect the bbq.
What size dif you get and how are you getting it in to your garden? They weigh a fuck ton! Mine broke down in half and had a stand on wheels you could roll, those legs look tricky, gotta be a fork lift job?
Even though I think you're absolutely batshit I'm glad we live in a world where people by stuff like this. Looking forward to seeing some great cooks from you this summer.

They weigh a fuck ton
The 32" grill comes in at half a tonne (512kg according to the website).
A friend has the 42" monster that he was given as part of some wild business venture with crazy people. It has the gold tiles, and weighs the same as a small car. They had to hire a crane to shift it when they moved house.

Fuck that, although if I'd have been the buyer I'd have probably requested it moved. Or rattle can it.
I use a Weber kettle for this.
It might not be the most stable for long, long cooks but for a few hours it's perfectly fine.
