  • I love how they put the onus of recycling “the unit responsibly” (which is not possible) on you after also forcing you to make it need recycling!

  • If you can find a picture online of another broken micro USB port, it shouldn't be too difficult to take a picture of yours at the same angle and shop them together.

  • Say no more

  • They're coming for our jobs for sure, any day now

  • The port of mine is pretty melted & they've seen a photo of that so would be hard to match.

  • Ha! Rep. Would an AI even want us to kill a computer?

  • Given this, do you even need Photoshop? Can't you just point that out and send them a photo of the serial number and the photo they sent you in the email above?

  • I'm no photoshopeur, but reckon my edit will be sufficient. Paid careful attention to the EXIF to not arouse suspicion.

Edit: probably should've dropped the pixel density post-edit, ah well.

  • Doubt they'd accept it, given that I'd be at no loss to damage it then. My issue at present is that while it does charge, it only does so on occasion (has screwed over riding plans a few times recently). Surprised they've said they'd replace it at all, given it will be my third Wahoo replacement.

  • I'm a bit surprised by the outrage tbh. As a business you'd want a faulty product of circulation first of all: they are a poor advertisement for your brand, but also you wouldn't want to risk the same unit to be claimed on several times for a replacement. So if the item cannot be repaired, and it would be expensive, time-consuming and ultimately pointless to get it back, that doesn't leave many options.
There's a lot that is wrong with modern electronics, but I can't see why this is particularly outrageous for that type of product.

  • Both of your points are easily remedied by asking for the item to be returned. And IMHO, getting a consumer to brick a ~£300 product is way worse an advertisement than having something faulty 'in circulation'.

  • asking for the item to be returned.

You seem to have skipped the second half of my comment.

  • ridiculous & farcical.

You also can't turn you element off at the end of a day's touring, save the ride, and carry on recording from there the next day - so you are into individual day rides.

  • Looks like my gamble paid off - they've sent me a new one. I hasten to add that I do fully expect the old one to completely stop charging at some point in the near future, so I'm not deliberately abusing the customer services, but I can't abide by deliberately sabotaging something which does still work in the meantime.
