And you need scales for an aeropress just as much as you do a v60.
Hard disagree if you're using pre-ground coffee (as I assume no faff OP is). My coffee scoop which is labelled "7 grams" does hold about 7 grams of ground coffee when level. Two of those without concentrating too much on levelness, but not piled high will be close enough to 15g as makes no difference.
Inverted, my aeropress will hold about 250ml of water along with the grounds, provided the plunger is not pushed too far in.
My work colleagues already think i'm a coffee nerd by just having an aeropress at work and the open plan kitchen precludes a noisy hand grinder. I think scales would result in my getting a permanent coffee based nickname. (I'm actually currently using a V60 size 1 with a hario air kettle for measuring water volume - as it's not possible to guestimate doing a slow pour in a V60 which is simultaneously draining)
Sure if you want to do fancy recipes with less water or want to grind by dose, you should get some scales...but for starters with a no faff requirement, certainly not needed.
