Kemi and Kwasi, as much as I dislike them, are certainly in the same position as Diane, but without the history of competence and community engagement that she has as an mp, which would make you do a double take at their treatment.
But there is also a major class component (as in feeling closer to boris then Diane) with the majority of the black/asian conservative mps, which makes it difficult to sympathise with or generate support from the community for them.
I agree with this but I also think it goes both ways. Kemi Badenoch and Kwasi were in similar position IMO.
I also feel that if race is brought into this it plays into Tories hands, they can claim all sorts of things like POC chancellor, POC PM, most diverse cabinet etc.
