No team air-conditioning? That's a shame

Surprisingly little comment about the Giro? I know it wasn't a nail biter but there was a lot to enjoy. I warmed to Pogacar more than in his previous races. Also proof again that when it's said that the battle for the podium, or the top 4 or top 10 will be exciting, it never is. And that the UAE B-team were more than strong enough for the course. Thomas continues to be an exceptionally consistent rider who's good when he needs to be.
I can't see how Vingegaard will be on decent enough form to compete at the Tour but Roglic should be able to make it less of a done deal. -

It was also good to see two big sprinters win repeated stages. A 'classic sprinters duel'.
Very different styles too. Personally I'm a fan of Merlier, but, Milan is a monster!

He's not had a single race day yet since his crash in April. He's almost as much of an unknown as Jonas I think.

Vingegaards injuries were much worse though. Roglic is doing the Dauphine so we will see. Evenepoel is also racing. I think the Giro was as easy as it could have been for Pogacar (which sounds crazy when you win 6 stages and are 2nd in two more) but the Tour is the Tour and always a different level.

Also in pro news R Tom won nova mesto xc again. Is he really good at Mtb or are pro tour road riders just stronger than xc pros?
I appreciate he wins a bit on the road but he doesn’t dominate like this at all. -

He is really good at mtb.

I think (I know nothing about MTB racing but watched this race) he has the technical skills same as the rest but he was attacking on the smoothest longest uphills and the CX V02max+ WT w/kg effect was just brutal

Next dumb question, why the eff does the tour of Britain start the week when schools go back, ie unless it goes past your school it’s impossible to go and watch?
I get there’s a calendar to fit into etc but if you want more families travelling to watch (maybe they don’t) having it a week earlier seems an easy win. -

Was wandering the same, perhaps absence of R Tom and R Cav is one of the reasons? I'm of course a big fan of Pog and Rog obv hailing from the same parts, so may not be as objective here.
BTW Pog is the first to break 8k and also 9k UCI points barrier. Mental.

I saw a side by side vid of him and Nino on the same technical feature and RPidz is quicker through it. His tech is really rather flawless (at times) and in previous races he's gained time and places as much going downhill as through big efforts.

Link? Would like to see that.

^^Amazing. He has more points on his own than every other team apart from Decathlon.

I've searched, but can't seem to find it! There's also another vid of Evie Richards consistency of line and speed through a root section that is super impressive, from last year. Sorry, again I'm without links!

No worries, I’ll try the old fashioned way and use an internet search engine.

Wasn't it Cosmo Catalano's How The Race Was Won account on Instagram? He definitely does analysis videos like that.

Ah, the Evie Richards one, yes. Still can't find the Pidders one.

What the heck kind of front light is he using? One of my favourite riders, I once went on a fairly miserable summer holiday to sicily just because of this guy
Might as well call it corrupted.
