Are you on your phone? Is it showing two accounts? Or two contacts sources?
What do you see when viewing in normal web browser?
I fucked off all SIM based contacts 100 years ago so I only have contacts in Google.

Used the 8a with headphones for the first time and notably better audio quality and volume than any other Google phone I've had

Just bought an 8a (trade in with 3a). It's around 187g. 40g heavier than the 3a - which is noticeable and I wasn't expecting it. I feel like I'm going to notice that in a cycling jersey / jacket pocket. Am I being stupid in thinking of returning it?

Is there a way to create a gesture control for: settings>network and Internet>private dns then change from private dns to automatic?
Pixel 6
Basically I love the dns, but there are times when it blocks me. My train service app in particular.

Also is there a recommended volume control? I'm finding one pair of BT buds too loud.

I planned to spend some time playing around with Tasker to try and do this and didn't get round to it. However, there seemed to be plenty of stuff out there suggesting it should work, like this:

There's some volume stuff in Developer settings that you can play around with that might make a difference

Sweet. Will have a procrastinate and see where I get to.

You may have to root the phone or apply permissions via adb, to allow Tasker to manipulate system settings

what's going on with Google's phone line up?
the 7 and 8 range all seem to be basically the same, except some are slightly bigger. The 7 Pro and 8 Pro even cost the same. Seems a bit odd.
I'm on a 6a at present and was idly considering upgrading so i could donate my 6a to one of the kids who will only accept pre used tech.

Couldn't sell all the stock and trying it on?
The pixel 9, 9 pro and 9xl are being presented mid august so not worth getting a 7 or 8 unless prices drop even more.
-
• #22944
right - makes sense.
i'll wait to see if the 9 pushes the prices of the others any lower.
-
• #22945
Interesting... How much does the a new model make the price drop by (roughly)?
I'd been considering upgrading but it might be worth waiting now. -
• #22946
well it's all a bit odd right now - all of the 7s are £150 off but the 8 Pro is £300 off which makes it the same price as the already discounted 7 pro.
Hard to say what will happen when the 9s come out - possibly the remaining 7s will be withdrawn and off loaded elsewhere.

• #22947
Ta. Might bide my time for a while then!

• #22948
I think I'm going to hold out until the 9A comes out to trade in my 6A

Anyone buy the Redmi Note 13 5g? Seems about as good as anything else in price range, £140. I have the 10 & it's 4 years old now. Most people swap phones every 2,3 years.
Done the merging. Cheers. Still got same issue though.
