We started in Athens and drove a hire car through the Peloponnese down to Methana, stopping at Epidauros for the stunning amphitheatre, the Corinth Canal and a couple of smaller sights. It was blissful.
Methana is very sleepy and beautiful, with lots of walks around/through the ancient volcano it sits on. Ximi’s Fish Bar on the tiny bay is incredible.

The islands that ectoplasmosis describes are very near Athens. We did Poros just next to Methana, then a car hire back to Athens through the Pelepenessos. But we had two weeks end of September early October. And still Corona times so much more quiet.
