I don’t have an income.

How do you take the roof off now?

Are you the dude with his arms crossed? I always thought that you would look a bit more sporty than him..
-
• #305
if you cut the straps run a lighter over the frays and you’ll get a nice hard plastic end
-
• #306
That’s my brother

• #307
Lol

• #308
Everything you see pictured is independent of the fabric roof, so I could have it up or down - but I'd need to take all the crap off then put it back on again.

Am surprised no one is suggesting “buy a cybertruck”.
The cybertruck Tesla were too sensible to consider?!

How do I nearly retain the ends of the straps?
Normal approach is to pull them tight, put the ends in the car, and shut them in the car door. Not sure how that works with your roof though
-
• #311
How about a rear rack, perhaps with a trailer hitch? Or remove the passenger seat? Summer adventures with the roof up seem a bit of a defeat.

Presumably dammit is hiring / demolishing / rebuilding (in carbon fibre) a small chateau, as a riding base.
He can store the box and car roof in one of stables.
-
• #313
That box has nothing aerodynamic about it, it'll do wonders for your mpg.
-
• #314
How easy does it need to be to remove the top box? Can it be bolted into place?
-
• #315
Give him a couple of months to invent a patented QR system.
-
• #316
I’d definitely be removing the passenger seat, there was a guy who used to rock up at Hermes hill with a 90s 911 with the passenger seat removed and his sweet fixie sat in the front… who needs friends when you have a 911 AND a bike?
-
• #317
Surely this calls for a diy carbon fibre aero fairing

My roof box fits to the rails using these. 8 hand turned nuts to take it on and off. Means 8 holes in the box, however.
-
• #319
Other option would be four t slot studs.

The box has pronounced feet- the roof rack has rails I a set position, these two sets of features do not coincide. Bolting it down would require significant reworking of the base of the box, or an intermediate object such as a sheet of plywood.
The ratchet straps work, Im going to stick with them I think unless a major flaw becomes apparent

Wise.
Flexibility (literally) seems a good idea.
With that in mind, I wouldn't cut the straps down, in case you want to transport a larger object, or secure the bike more or whatever.
Add suggested above, she then into the car and close the door on them. Or the window.

Aren’t these RTS rare as hens teeth? I recall they were on the 986.
-
• #323
Do you just want to borrow my narrower bike holder and roofbox? 😀
-
• #324
Did you consider making some sort of spoiler on the front of the box to make it more aerodynamic?
-
• #325
They’re certainly not commonly available- I do think they give amazing flexibility to a convertible sports car so are well worth picking up though.
How do I nearly retain the ends of the straps?
