Three weeks out from my first 50k mountain "race" and I've started feeling a bit of ankle discomfort. Stretch the shit out of it, slow weighted / eccentric calf raises and hope for the best?
Plenty of fascia release stuff and maybe use of gym, watt bike and pool to help cross train
