The box has pronounced feet- the roof rack has rails I a set position, these two sets of features do not coincide. Bolting it down would require significant reworking of the base of the box, or an intermediate object such as a sheet of plywood.
The ratchet straps work, Im going to stick with them I think unless a major flaw becomes apparent
