Sure. You'd just think that a big club like Bayern would want something more than 'Won the Championship and shows an ambition to play nice football' in a manager. Proven success at the highest level. Experience of managing in the Champions League. That sort of thing.
I assume they had other targets and have just fucked up their recruitment spectacularly and are now in panic buy mode. But still. Maybe it's all insane rumour and they'll hire Mou instead.

Bayern are desperate. First time in 12 (15?) seasons they haven’t won a single thing. And their first choice replacements said no.
Better half’s dad supports Bayern (they live just outside 2nd place Stuttgart as it happens) - will be good to hear his thoughts when we visit!

just watched the goals. can't recall a better quality hatty than that, in a major final anyway. awesome stuff

Haven’t they repeatedly had their fingers burnt by hiring managers who do have big club and big cup experience, only for them to fail win the trophies they desire (but expect is probably a more accurate description)?
Maybe they’ve seen what happened with Leverkusen and decided now was the time for them to hire a young manager on the up too? (Although you’d think they’d recruit someone more promising than Kompany).

They tried that with Kovac and to a lesser extent Nagelsmann and it was a spectacular failure. Don't underestimate the issues with dealing with the politics at Bayern, even Ancelotti found it difficult. That's why they've usually gone for people who know the club or high profile managers.

Maybe the club is better set up now bringing in non-Bayern people like Eberl and Freund behind the scenes, but the squad needs a rebuild so it's a difficult job even for the best of managers.

But could he do it with Arkéa?

No one has reported that except the BBC which says it "expects him to" reject it.

Fair enough. I thought it was confirmed.
He’s almost guaranteed to be off though, right?

I'm still trying to be optimistic - staying at Ipswich means a much improved contract, stability for his family, and the chance to cement his legacy by continuing the project and making us an established Premier League club.
Brighton means taking over someone else's project without much scope for progression and making his mark, and Chelsea and United mean a few months at
a basket case club with antagonism from the fans and possibly players, before he's spat out with his reputation tarnished. -

Some of these are pretty wild.
Well guess he won’t be going to City.
2 years ban?

If they can prove them, it’s basically career over at that level. I can imagine West Ham will work to end his contract and potentially recover wages / damages.
Moron.

Yeah going off recent bans you are probably correct.
Be interesting to see how this plays out because I have a feeling this will become very common over the next few years. The authorities seem to be on top of it with bookies now.

Still holding out hope for McKenna

One of the yellow cards was after he was originally charged, that would be beyond stupid if found guilty.

Deserves everything that's coming to him if found guilty.

I feel like the FA must have some pretty solid evidence beyond "this player got booked and lots of people bet on football" to go public.

He is a walking yellow most games, would be hard to figure out what crap tackle was legit and what wasn't

Nice to see Spurs planning to trash their local environment:

Just read this. Some unbelievable behaviour from Spurs, but also from Enfield Council and the judge in the case. Absurd.

Kompany confirmed as Bayern's new coach. Meanwhile, Wayne Rooney is appointed as head coach of Plymouth Argyle.
