• Came across this recently at work, from one of our Project Managers on site.

    Tumbling in brickwork typical / traditional arrangement found on buttresses and chimney stacks.

    Technical craftsmanship of the highest order, how they managed to tie this back to blockwork with such a raked angle, and the precision of the cut bricks

  • Is that brickwork corner vertical? Or is the bottom of the corner closer to us than the top is? In any case, its a remarkable piece of craftsmanship.

  • I’ve not seen IRL.. I would like a closer look on site. The inner block work appears to have a vertical face, where as the tumbling in brickwork tapers on all corners

    Traditionally this would be constructed entirely from brick several courses thick. How this is supported I am assuming a cut header back to block work with ties. Also noticed the variety of brick types used

    As for the building purpose, I understand, is part of a mixed use development.
