These sound like some very good reasons to go with Force. I'm guessing (well based on exp) there will be much better availability with Force too.

Can a force FD handle 50/37?? This looks to be a yes based on 13tooth gap being the only spec

It is and it isn’t ~£150 vs ~£400 is a fairly hard pill to swallow. Particularly as they still dont really do a wide Red crank, so if the regular FD doesn’t really work and I need to switch out makes it all the more painful….
