Jokke_A's endless stream of projects

Sadly, when havin a closer look at the state of the frame it became instantly clear that anything nice is out of the question. I didn't really want to put the effort into removing the thick layer of paint that didn't really want to come off, especially with the understanding that the spray painted surface wouldn't probably last as well. So... rust effect it is.

I had some clothes drying outside, so had to paint this on the side of the yard that's as dusty as Arrakis. I was very surprised to see I didn't really manage to catch too much sand, insects and other representatives of flora and fauna under the paint.

I think I will warm up to the paint job eventually, it doesn't really hide the craterlike minor imperfections under the surface, but with a nicer paint on, surface looking like surface of the moon would really bother me.

I think I also just scored a deal on a XT M8100 1x12 drivetrain and SLX M7100 brakes for the bike. Frame uses a 12x135 mm thru axle, next I should figure out the rear hub/wheels and probably start keeping my eyes open for a good deal on a used fork.
