  • I can't help with the rest but I recently tried out a Brooks C15 after using a Flite for years. I got on with the Flite pretty well but the Brooks is even better. You're welcome to borrow the Brooks for a couple of weeks to test it out of you like. It's heavy though!

  • Heavy is fine! No point saving grams if it’s limiting how far I can ride in a day through discomfort.
I’ll also need to mount the bagman on it, so a substantial saddle is advisable anyway.

I’ve been meaning to keep my eye out for a c15, and you make me think I’m on the right track. Do you use one with a cutout or not?

  • Mine doesn't have a cut out. If I was buying one I'd probably go cut out, just because that's helped in the past with other saddles. I got this for free though so thought I'd give it a go. The gooch is the area that's noticing the benefit of the Brooks over the Flite for what it's worth, it's a bit more forgiving.

It sounds like we may have similar requirements from a saddle so whilst I'm here, I use a Brooks/Flite with risers and a Specialized Romin with drops. That might be worth looking at as well. Super comfy (for me anyway) modern and much lighter than the Brooks. Doesn't work for me if I'm too upright though.
