The challenge with running them like regular cables is going the tension. Which might be where friction shifters can help.

Possibly with sugru enclosures for connectors?

Need to get one and play around with it.

But how much give do the electric cables need ? I have never worked on a electronic groupset but I thought the wires only powered it right ?
Indeed if they do move like regular cables then yeh tension will be a problem...
