I've never had mine that extreme but they tend to start pink and then go to orange. Are you the person that has the MASSIVE version, from last year?!
I've had only one or two of about the 20 Nectaroscordum siculum bulbs that I planted up, flower this year. I've posted a close-up also!
I love these but in my clay soil they don't last very well. Next time I plant some I'm going to put down a load of gravel underneath.
