I love inside number 9. My favourite is still the silent cat burglar episode

That was the best for sure

Crossword is up there, as is the argument over the bill.
Agree with the sentiments re. the more recent ones, good to hear the latest is a return to form.

Crossword (Riddle of the Sphinx) is my favourite also. Even more so given the crossword was the guardian cryptic crossword on the day the episode aired.
Agree it's maybe dropped off but there's always some corkers (e.g. the final episode from last season The Last Weekend to name but one)

I always enjoyed the one in the sleeper car too. First two or three seasons were generally all bangers.

That No.9 has really got the nostalgic reviewers reviewing what they wished it had been. Maybe not as bad as recent seasons, but all a bit meh, despite the big-name cast. Although Joel Fry is pretty fucking awful at acting.

Is Giri/Haji worth a watch?

Just finished 2nd season of Traces on bbc iPlayer. If you want a nice easy mid watch it’s OK
Shogun is amazing, I’m actually trying to restrict myself from caning through it.

I've just watched Red Riding. Gripping stuff. Any other recommendations for great series I may have missed?

Dunno if missed, but S2 of Tokyo Vice added to BBC. 1st was excellent so high hopes

Loved it.

I’ve been meaning to revisit it! -

Started watching Entourage as light entertainment.
Never watched it properly first time around, just a few eps here and there.
It's enjoyable. But the really striking thing for me is how it captures that era. Clothes, music, language, attitude.
It seems so familiar, yet a world away. I guess this is how genxers feel when they watch Seinfeld.

Just started watching Dark Matter on Apple. It's good. Quite slow paced but enjoying it so far
Loving sugar on apple too

S2 of Tokyo Vice
It’s as good as S1.
I still can’t get over how much Shun Sugata is the Japanese Robert DeNiro out of Godfather.

Watched the first episode of the new serious of Rebus on BBC1.
It's pretty good, pretty in tune with the feel of the books, albeit they've made Rebus quite young, its set present day and the first episode seems to be a mishmash of a few different books so far.

S2 of Tokyo Vice
Wow they drop you straight back into the story, don't they? Not even so much as a recap or a refresher. Properly testing my memory.
Being a bit of a jpop fan I was a bit disappointed with the music in S1 - only track I really recognised was Time Goes By by Every Little Thing, but already clocked hitomi in the background of a club scene in S2 so there is hope yet...

Is Giri/Haji worth a watch?
I'd say so. I remember enjoying it.

I love inside number 9. My favourite is still the silent cat burglar episode
Surely the best they've done, although last night's video doorbell one was great

Loving sugar on apple too
Yeah I’ve just got the last episode of this left I think. It’s been a really interesting watch - not what I was expecting (for a few reasons!).
Really enjoyed Ripley too. You could randomly pause it anywhere, print out the resulting frame and whack it on your wall. Gorgeous. And stressful!

Recently rewatched Better Call Saul from the start, I hadn't watched the final season until now, really enjoyed it, and the early seasons with the stuff about his brother didn't drag as much as I remembered in my head.
also enjoyed Ripely, not sure it added anything more than the movie, and at times if felt overly slow, and missing philip seymour hoffman. but it all looked beautiful.
Sacked off 3 body problem in episode 5 just not interested.
Really enjoying Fallout.
Same here!
