DF54 has arrived. Ordered April 19th, so just under a month. Waybill shows it has come from Incheon airport in South Korea.
First impressions compared to my Wilfa Svart
Nicely compact, looks good on the counter.
Feels dense, pretty solid unit.
Grind uniformity is night and day, much much more consistent (this is what I upgraded for, mainly).
Audible tone of the grinder is much lower, it is quite rumbly but fairly quiet at the same time. Quite a lot of the vibration gets transferred into the counter.
The rubber feet are a problem. They slide, and leave black marks on the counter top. The force needed to solidly actuate the starter switch is enough to push the grinder sideways unless you hold by the base. Maybe they can be replaced?
Have read advice to "hot start" it, ie dose the beans in while it's running. So I need to get something to weigh the beans in, if I can't use the catching cup.
Taste is a lot smoother than my previous filter brews, but need to dial it in further I guess.
