Surely calling Arsenal Spursy is what we need to do. Relying on someone else to achieve a league championship feels pretty fucking spursy.
Appreciate DCFC winning the league on the beach is pretty radical.

When the 115 charges land* will Arsenal have a retrospective open top bus parade?
*hahaha they’re never landing they are hoping we forget.

We can call City Spursy if they don't win against West Ham and Arsenal pip them to the title.
We can call Arsenal a bit Sprusy for losing the title by being beaten by Fulham (away) and West Ham and Villa at home. But coming second to the financial dopers of City isn't really "proper" Spursy.
We can definitely call Spurs Spursy if they lose against Sheffield United and end up finishing out of the European places letting either/both of Newcastle and Chelsea above them.

Wait, what? Chelsea are in contention for Europe?

Everyone relies on other teams to take points off of their rivals in order to win leagues, unless you’re as close to perfect as Leverkusen or The Invincibles (credit Jens Lehmann).
-
• #168982
Hard to call Arsenal Spursy, when they have the best form in the league over the last 15 matches down the run-in.
-
• #168983
Both Newcastle and Chelsea can finish above spurs if they win their games
-
• #168984
Pity the league season is, checks table, 38 games.

Not at the pointy end of the season.
"i'd love it" -

I think the spursy term acknowledges that despite never winning anything, they always provide high levels of entertainment, something boring boring arsenal can only dream of.
-
• #168987
being in the running to win something is the least spursy thing imaginable

sportswashing in football, r.4 file on 4 looking at city and newcastle. and their opaque offshore financing

We’re talking off the pitch entertainment, right?
-
• #168990
Where is this entertainment?
Arsenal have been great this year. You just need 90+ points every year to get 2nd. -

"Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou says the "foundations are fairly fragile" at the club"
thats shocking, i'd sue the company that built the stadium, that was like a £600mn infrastructure project. no excuse for substandard concrete

Up to sixth, what a crazy fucking season.

Could pip spurs for 5th at the weekend.
Bonkers side. Think you'll still be mad inconsistent next season though. -

Ten Hag deciding he wants to address the OT crowd and getting booed, despite winning. You love to see it.

We can definitely call Spurs Spursy if they lose against Sheffield United and end up finishing out of the European places letting either/both of Newcastle and Chelsea above them.
Despite Newcastle losing tonight I forgot that Spurs could also be Spursy by losing against Sheffield United and end up finishing out of the European places letting Chelsea above them and Man U getting the remaining European place by winning the FA Cup.

I think Man United and the Conference League would be a new low.

Pep winning four Premier League titles in a row is a huge achievement, it's up there with Lance Armstrong winning seven tours on the bounce.
-
• #168999
Is Pep a cycling fan? His teams have always seemed very well prepared.
A bit of googling will tell you that he had one of USPS' doctors advising Barca when he was there (Del Moral).
