those are from elho - that is a particularly vigorous type of bamboo (sasa palmata) and I don’t think they love being in those troughs…

I like elho containers too

Our rhubarb has done the same - all seems a bit limp and flat now

Had the garden tidied up by Conscious Gardening company - highly recommended. Ty en jet washed the patio on Sunday. How best to try and clear the black spots?
The wisteria at the front has finally started to flower - this is our 5th summer here and first flowering. It’s much more pronounced on the side furthest from the main root. Any ideas why?

Think I may have mentioned that I used this company last year https://www.digclub.co.uk/ to provide plants for a couple of beds. You put in the details (size, orientation, style, etc) and they'll give you the plants with a plan of where to put them.
Bit pricier than buying the plants straight up (we paid about £500 for two 5m x 60cm or so beds) but we'd twatted about so much pondering what to put in and buying random plants that subsequently died that we thought sod it.
It seemed decent but the real test was going to be how much came back this year and it seems that virtually everything has come back looking healthy. A few things I'd have changed in hindsight and probably not really needed for most in this thread but I'd say a good option for the beginner gardeners on here.

Looks like my Lady of Shallot rose has had some sort of genetic mutation this year and there's one flower that's half pink. First and only time that I've ever seen this. Reddit seems to have the odd documentated case.
So so pretty.

Lovely to look at, but just wait till it develops mutant powers and murders you while you are weeding

I’m not a big fan of hostas in beds but these look really nice in containers

Anybody near Carlisle there is this nursery that does a good range of hostas, they have 50 varieties or so. Cheap ish too.

Allotment thread cross post. Lidl have some cheap fig trees: https://www.lfgss.com/comments/17385708/

warning - don't plant figs straight into the soil unless you live on a Mediterranean cliff. They just grow massive.

Cheers, it’s my 3rd tree (plus a few cuttings hopefully propagating well) all safely in pots 😃

Getting a few more figs is on my list for this year.

Hmmm... I probably should have got on the Nematodes earlier, as the 3 ligularia przewalskii I've recently bought have all been decimated. Literally down to the nub, so no point in a photo.
Currently now using a combo of Sluggo and hunting, but it's in a hard to reach spot. I'm usually happy for them to hang out in certain places. These free lily's I put in an old fish kettle have been absolutely savaged.

Anyone want a white squash seedling? I have one spare here in Catford. Photo from last year before I harvested the seeds.

My rambling rose never seems very happy. It gets fed and watered, maybe not as regularly as it should but it always looks a bit rubbish.
This will be its 3rd year. I did contact David Austin and they did say that due juvenile roots struggle to supply the plant with nutrients as the plant is so much bigger than the roots.

Are you feeding it?

Looks like it's got quite a lot of powdery mildew and blackspot. I'd say treating them would be a good start.
This looks like a nice place to hang out. I'm a fan of your bamboo troughs, where are they from?
