Yeah, original Centre Hub can spin forwards whilst the cranks remain still, but rotate the wheel backwards and it will pull on the chain- it’s moving the free hub from the rear wheel to the crank basically.
The new one can spin freely in both directions- which would prevent any pull from the suspension on the crank and any (non pedalling) tension on the cassette from the crank.
