Bollocks. Winning the fourth place trophy isn't enough.

If City win the league, then Guardiola deserves it (even if he is a cunt) for being the first manager to win four league titles in succession, and if Arsenal win it then Arteta deserves it for breaking the City hegemony.

Pfft. My nan could manage that man city side and win the league. And they've cheated 115 times to get there.
To take Villa from 17th when he arrived to a European semi-final and CL qualification in his first full season is by far the bigger achievement.

On the grounds that manager of the season is based on the season just gone, having improved Villa from 7th to 4th, whilst admirable, doesn't feel particularly award-worthy to me. In the absence of any particularly standout candidates it probably should be Pep.
