I didn't say they were. But, with the largest Jewish population outside of Israel, there are a lot of US citizens who have an affinity with the Israeli nation and who are active and vocal in lobbying the US Government to support it. On top of that, there are deep commercial ties between major US corporations and Israel, especially in the technology sector, who are also vocal in support.
To simplify US support down to just military alignment is wrong, there's a lot more to it than that.
