  • Are there any recommended t-shirts/polos for commuting in - maybe merino, or is that a bad idea? Wouldn't mind something I could wear around the office without looking too sports-wear.

  • I wore x2 Rapha Explore Merino t-shirts on rotation for the best part of 2 years on tour and they still look good and don't smell. They were washed and tumble dried way beyond what the washcare recommends and generally treated fairly poorly. They outlasted similar Icebreaker tees by a long way.

Looks like the colours are pretty limited at the moment but maybe previous season colours will go in the archive at some point.

  • Nothing wrong with a merino tee for cycling in (dependong personal sweat levels/effort).
I've got a few icebreakers and also like Patagonia capilene LS or SS. Have a Cool Trail tee that has a slight drop tail which is handy.

  • Same as rapha/ Albion/ Castelli/ Enduro pro stuff I’d say

I’m 183cm and 72kg. Medium tops and iirc large bibs (as the mediums were too tight on shoulders) which is the same as all my other kit

  • +1 for the rapha and Albion merino tees. Both excellent.

I'd also throw in the Fjalleaven * Spech one, which you can pick up quite cheaply if you look around.

  • I have a couple of rapha merino and they've been going strong for a long time, still in great nick. Would recommend.

  • Has anyone tried the Trail MTB Rapha t-shirt? Comically expensive but sort of looks like what I'm after.

  • Couple of them discounted on SportPursuit, if that's any good to you.

  • I've currently got a rapha explore packable jacket for chilly mornings, but also a proper rain jacket for wet. I'd like to condense into one jacket. Any recommendations on a really light, packable, but still reasonabley waterproof jacket?

  • Looking at cargo bibs and it seems the style is now bib grippers to the knees, wtf. It's not the 1920s, want to show some leg and also not deal with the gripper lifting every pedal stroke (a la Rapha cargo core).

Albion look ideal but also looooong, guess I can take a punt and return. Anyone make normal leg length cargo bibs?!

  • I'm very happy with the Canyon cargo bibs

  • Anyone know any bib shorts that are a bit shorter in the leg? I feel the trend for longer bibs doesn’t suit my stumps so well. It’s summer and I wanna get some colour on those thighs.

  • I think Assos are known to be short, they have introduce "long" versions of some model, so the regular ones should be short.

  • You need proper quads for short shorts. Otherwise please stick to knee length.

  • Have you got a set of the Santini ones HV uses for kit? I personally find them pretty short but it might just be my very long legs.

  • Knee length?!?!

Thanks all. Got the santini ones, yeah they're certainly better. I'll check Assos out. I'd be up for some short shorts tho, reckon my quads could pull them off. Which of the big brands is going to have the cojones to launch a pair first?? I'd buy them.

  • i use mille gt and can confirm they are short, but really comfy

  • Cheers i just read a reddit thread with a few mentions of the assos mille.

    Then cropped up on these:

    https://www.giordana.co.uk/products/giordana-frc-pro-5cm-shorter-bibs-black

Shorter Inseam - The regular length FR-C Pro bib short inseam of 10.5
inches* (26.5 cm) decreases by 5cm to create a shorter inseam version
of 8.5 inches or 21.5 cm. This length is perfect for cyclists who want
to work on their tan lines or for those who find the regular inseam
length just a little too long.

  • No idea why i stumble on this thread and if helpful, but i have had these giordanas. It's rough tight, compressive race euro stuff, the opposite of assos. Enjoyable if it's your thing.
Cafe du cycliste is not too long.

  • rough tight, compressive race euro stuff

That’s exactly the thread I was searching for 👌

    Thanks.

  • Chloe Dygert called, and she is demanding her weird shorts back.

  • There's lots of options for short shorts for women. Even Rapha do short versions of their bog standard options but not for men. It's regular or long.

  • I’ve been demanding the short shorts for years. It’s coming
