Tech question, is there anywhere other than the obvious Windows settings where I can fiddle with Microphone levels?
Various Microphones I use on my PC all sound very quiet, even ones that are perfectly usable on my phone. I have the mixer volume set at 100 and the gain set all the way up (2?)

What type of mic / how close are you to it / does the mic have any of its own software? Some mics require power so unless they receive it their levels are v. low.

Any advances on ergotron rec from 3 years ago for dual monitor? Will be one horizontal and one vertical almost all of the time but may want to adjust distance towards me quickly and easily. That secret labs thing kind of looks horrible (also it has 2 vertical columns rather than a single one) and it's likely vapourware - however it has internal cable management which I respect.

Also, this monitor: https://www.gigabyte.com/Monitor/AORUS-FO27Q3/sp#sp
I've just ordered one without really thinking it through. What are my options for minimal cabling (ideally some kind of daisy chaining for either data and or power) with this and a second monitor (currently some old BenQ 1080/240hz thing but with the intent of getting another of the same FO27Q3 or similar down the line. Or have I ballsed it and just get a mac meht

I’ve got these https://www.invisiontechnology.co.uk/products/single-and-dual-monitor-arms
Work great. Easy to use. Easy to move when needed. We use them at work so I just bought the same for home. I did get the heavy duty gas powered/supported ones and they hold two 27” monitors perfectly.

I'm aware that display port is capable of daisy-chaining but never seen it done in practice. Wouldn't it require more than a single DP socket though?
Not sure how the same could be done with power. At least most monitors these days have a separate power brick so you only have to deal with a thin low voltage cable above the desk.

If it’s usb c/tb4 then it can also do power as well as video. I’ve got a laptop dock that works this way, usb c to laptop handles all power and video requirements. Not sure about DP, think that may be video only.

I just bought an Invision mx450. Would recommend (heavy duty single monitor arm)

Yeah, as @C4r1s says, I think you can do tb4 but think you're limited on refresh rates. I'd be interested in some way of maybe using a power daisy chain but that particular Gigabyte draws 53w and only gives 18w. So I think it's just going to be a minimum of 4 cables and 2 plugs. Which kind of sucks but ho hum.

Going with the Ollin as a there's currently a decent discount plus I found a further code for the herman miller website, meaning it's about the same cost or even less than an Ergotron I was looking at.

How warm does this thing get?
Now that it's actually running, I can tell you it gets pretty warm. It's on an open desk top but under my power amps, and you can't hold your hand on the hot end when it's working hard. When I take everything apart to sort out the cable management, I'm going to give it more space.

Morning. Chrome is my default browser but I am on the dreaded Microsoft Bing at the moment. BBC News is my home page when I open Chrome but today it will only load half a page and won't load anything else in other tabs. My Internet connection is fine. Do I wait it out or uninstall and reinstall Chrome? Thanks.

• #9697
I uninstalled and reinstalled it and no luck. Any ideas anyone?

Have you
- Checked the proxy settings are disabled
- Tried in a Private Browsing window with all extensions disabled
- Cleared your DNS cache
- Opened the Web Developer Tools console to view any errors

You could try using VoiceMeeter Banana or its various other permutations to add more gain / compression through a virtual audio device. It may even work as a VST host, I've forgotten.

^^ Thanks, but even that advice is beyond my understanding.
Actually, it works in Incognito.
Proxy is off, as far as I can tell.
